Now I know, who am I to be complaining about Facebook when I use it all the time... But it's gotten to a point. So here I am, starting off a series of entries about my problems with Facebook. I don't know how long (or short, for that matter) this list will get, so, please, bear with me.
PROBLEM #1: EVERYONE (and their dog) POST THEIR PROBLEMS HERE!!!!
Okay, so to me, Facebook is a place where I can connect with my friends, see what's going on. I DON'T go on Facebook to see the drama(although, at times, it's nice), to see who said what about who, to look at who's with who and who left who and who is doing who's best friend who is like a sister (or brother) and all that "fun" stuff. I go there to do OTHER stuff.
It seems to me that, while people say things on Facebook about "how horrible their life is" that they aren't doing it to get help. As I scroll down my news feed, I see so much "my girlfriend is cheating on me" or "Why are you writing about me on the bathroom stall" that I just want to invent a setting. On that says: "Do you want to block complaining, lying, and drama?
[ ] Yes
[ ] No"
That would make my DAY!!!
It seems wrong of me to say "Well this is my problem", but really, I see people posting problems and I just want to walk through the computer screen and say "Honey chil'. Now you get one thing straight. Complain' ain't got no one nowhere." But, sadly, that technology isn't here yet.
I guess the main reason why I hate the drama and complaining on Facebook is that the people who do it aren't doing it for help. It seems like a way of getting the attention they "deserve" because they were wronged by someone. If you've been wronged, attention doesn't solve the problem. You getting up on your own two feet and CONFRONTING it does. Just saying. By posting something on Facebook, you're showing the aggressor that you've recognized the threat they pose, which gives them more power. And besides, power is a tool of corruption. So why give those who already talk bad about you more power, thus corruption, because you decide to put it on Facebook.
Okay, so I've ranted about Problem #1 for long enough. If you're gonna take anything away from this, it needs to be the following 2 things.
1) If you post everything bad that's happened to you on Facebook, all you're going to get is a pity party, not a solution.
2) Drama on the bathroom walls is MUCH more interesting.
